CrossFit since? I can’t even remember…I think I started in the fall of 2014
What class times do you attend? Chances are if you don’t attend the 5:30 am class you will never see me… Back in the day, it was the 6am class.
How did you find CrossFit Condor? I read a lot about CrossFit and knew some people that were working out at local CrossFit gyms…I began doing my own WOD’s and eventually became interested enough to look for a CrossFit gym…I searched this area and found Condor was close to my house. Figured I would give it a try and never left…
First memorable CrossFit experience? I don’t really remember…the only thing that sticks out in my mind is doing the “Filthy Fifty” WOD a number of years ago. I think that this stands out because it was the only time to date that I remember leaving before I completed the whole WOD…
What is your biggest challenge that you overcame? I was involved in a snowboarding accident in January of 2018…Had 2 major surgeries on my left arm and was told by doctors that I should not return to CrossFit due to risk of future injury…I tried other forms of exercise but after 10 months I decided to return…I have been back for 4 months now and have been able to continue to gain mobility and achieve more than I ever have in CrossFit prior to my injury…Kipping Pull-Ups and Double Unders are a big challenge as well but I have not overcome them yet!
What do you love most about CrossFit? I love the variety of the workouts. Everything from the power lifting movements to the cardio exercises. Each day is different. I have worked out since I was in high school and workouts can tend to get boring…I have never been bored at CrossFit!
What do you love most about CrossFit Condor? The location has always been great for me. I am really excited about the recent changes at the gym. I have been working out here for a number of years now and I can honestly say that I have never been more excited and engaged in the gym than I am today. Attending at 5:30 am over the years there has been a lot of inconsistency…Since my return things have been more consistent than ever!
Favorite movement or workout? Hand stand push-ups & Push Presses. Prefer any AMRAP that doesn’t include wallballs or burpees…
What is your favorite thing to do on rest days (hobbies)? I would love to say running or yoga…usually just sleep in later on these days!
CrossFit advice for new members? My goal now is really to just keep moving and doing the movements properly. I listen to my body now more than ever. Some days I chose to go for heavier lifts and other days I scale my workouts…I think people really need to find and be content with that balance.
