What is your first memorable experience? Getting my first blisters on my hands. I was so proud of them.
What is the biggest challenge that you overcame? Just thinking "I can't do that" and turns out, I can. So I guess my biggest challenge I overcame was starting to believe I can do it. (lift heavy things) and running. I hate running, now I actually look forward to running.
What do you love most about CrossFit? It's a different workout every day. So I never get bored. I love that there is a mix of people in the classes; Men, women, fit, super fit and all age ranges. We are all in it together for those 60 minutes.
What do you love most about CrossFit Condor? I tried another local CF but I felt more comfortable at Condor. I never once felt intimidated. The coaches are all very friendly and the members too. I love that I can modify or scale when and where I need to. The coaches know when to push me to try harder.
What is your favorite movement? I can’t believe I am going to say it, but squats and deadlifts!!! I just love seeing progress and I feel so accomplished afterwards.
Do you have any hobbies? I volunteer to transport dogs some weekends. They come from the South and are being transported up North to foster homes or adopters. It’s a network of volunteers that each drives a portion of their journey. I am a rescue dog advocate, we have 3 rescues. I also like Yoga, aerial yoga and I have a Peloton bike.
What advice do you have for new members or people thinking about joining CrossFit Condor? I knew about CrossFit for years before I joined. I didn't think I was physically strong enough. I did a free trial day on a Saturday and signed up the following week for a month unlimited. Listen to the coaches, they watch you and correct your form and give positive feedback. You can modify the workouts or scale it back. You can't compare yourself to others; you can only compete with yourself and continue to better your own performance. It's fun and I have more energy on the days I workout at 6:30 AM.
